Have you succumbed to one of Satan’s lies recently? There are three that I think widows are susceptible to:

  • First, he instills the thought “You’re all alone”- During the funeral we had sweet relatives, friends and neighbors who visited, brought food and called. But eventually they returned to their normal routine. Where does that leave the widow? Alone, of course. There may be no one physically in our home with us, but we are not alone. Rebuke Satan with Hebrews 13:5b, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
  • Second-Now what? You’ve no future! Of course you do! If you weren’t left here for a purpose, then the Lord would have taken you to heaven at the same time as your husband. Tell the Master Liar, “John 10:10 says, ‘I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”’ He loves us and wants to give us an abundant life which means over and above, more than is necessary.
  • Third-No one cares what happens to you! Has he used that one on you, dear friend? If we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, we know that no matter where we are, in the city, country, at home, or at work, He is always with us. Therefore, we can rely on I Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

If we get caught in the spider web that Satan weaves around us, we feel isolated and think we are useless and no one cares what happens to us.

Resist, ladies-He will flee!
